We’re quickly approaching the beginning of summer. In New York, that means outdoor events, eating out at terraces and long walks in parks. Before that happens, we celebrate Memorial Day. If you’re in town for May 27, 2019, take a look at the top things to do in New York.
The Dutch NYC will be serving its annual Memorial Day brunch, which in fact runs all day from 11am to 9pm. It includes the popular Dutch BBQ with smoked brisket, kalua pig, roasted chicken, watermelon and parker house roll. Accompany your meal with a Brooklyn gin and watermelon juice punch to beat the heat.
If you’re too cool for brunch, then come and have breakfast with us at Forty Four Restaurant! Our menu includes a selection of toast, oatmeal, wraps, eggs, fruit and yogurt with the gourmet touch for which we’re known. Accompany your meal with delicious coffee, tea or fruit juices.

Shakespeare in the Park finally returns to the city! The first show of the 2019 season is Much Ado About Nothing playing at Delacorte Theater and running until June. As always, Shakespeare in the Park is free but you need to wait in line for same-day tickets or sign up for the ticket lotteries.

If vessels, engines and aircrafts are your thing, then don’t miss the opportunity to tour U.S. Navy ships during Fleet Week. The annual event honors members of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps with a series of events, exhibits and live performances throughout New York City.

Location: University Place, starting at East 13th Street to West 3rd Street on the east side of Washington Square Park. It will also be at Schwartz Plaza, between NYU's Shimkin Hall and Bobst Library.
The 2019 spring show of the Washington Square Outdoor Exhibit will take place over two weekends. artists and artisans of the highest calibre will put together an exhibit of fine arts, graphics, mixed media, oils & acrylic, watercolor, photography. sculpture, crafts, jewelry, metal work, ceramics, glass. mixed media, fiber and wood. Be ready to spend the entire day debating what to buy for your place!
